Join us at Wyoming’s State capital in Cheyenne on Saturday June 14th from 12 pm to 2:30 pm as we aim to lift up and take back our wonderful flag.
June 14th is the next big National Day of Action, and some cities are split in their themes, with some choosing to protest the narcissistic birthday of Donald Trump but we choose to take a stand for our flag and other flags that we are fighting for considering June 14 is flag day.
Flag day is getting overshadowed by the ego boosting birthday celebration that is planned but there are more important things to focus on than making it seem like the day is about him.
So, in defiance of the corruption, abuses of power and everything else that is going on with the Trump administration we will take back our flag and restore it to the prestige it once had.
A little background about flag day, on June 14th, 1777, the Continental congress formally approved the design for the national flag and President Woodrow Wilson officially designated June 14th as national flag day.
The beloved American flag has always been known to have been a symbol of hope, peace, freedom and justice, among other things. But Donald Trump and his cult following have managed to desecrate our flag and turn it into a symbol of hate, bigotry, greed, fear and just overall negativity. In his first presidency and this current one, he has managed to weaponize the flag in a way that is completely opposite of everything the flag stands for.
It’s long overdue we take a stand for our flag and other flags that we are fighting for. Its time to take back our flag and restore it to its meaning and purpose. The American flag needs to be raised up and give people hope again like it did in powerful moments such as when firemen raised the flag at the site of the 9/11 attacks, or when it was famously raised during the battle of Iwo Jima in World War 2.
Oour freedom of speech and rights being tampered with won't stop us from proclaiming that Donald Trump is no king! Come show that the flag doesn’t belong to Donald Trump! It belongs to us! So, if you are in or near Cheyenne on June 14th, come make your presence known at the State capital building. Bring family and friends to this positive and peaceful but spirited protest. Don’t forget your signs as well as an American flag or any other flag that you're taking a stand for like a LGBTQ+ rights flag, Palestinian flag, Ukrainian flag, to name a few examples.
