Auditions are for a series of staged readings happening June through August 2025 at ClearStory Arts in partnership with the Chattanooga Queer Empowerment Collective.
ABOUT THE CASTING PROCESS
We’re casting approximately 20 roles across 4 staged readings of new and contemporary plays. We aren’t auditioning for specific characters—directors will cast based on auditions and availability. The commitment is low (just a few rehearsals and one performance per reading), and we’ll work closely with you to make it manageable and fun.
This is a paid opportunity, and we encourage actors of all identities, backgrounds, and experience levels to audition. The roles span an extremely diverse range of voices, experiences, and expressions, and we’re committed to inclusive, community-rooted casting.
AUDITION REQUIREMENTS
-Monologue: Please prepare a memorized monologue from a contemporary play (written after 2010). It should be about one minute in length, but no longer than 1:30. Choose something that speaks to you and gives us a sense of your voice and presence.
-When/Where: Auditions will take place at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, June 12 at ClearStory Arts (click here for directions). We’ll see actors in the order they check in, starting at 6:45 PM.
