WHAT: The Great Fish Count is meant to create awareness about the importance of migratory fish and free-flowing rivers! All across NYC people will be coming together to celebrate, catch, ID, and count fish in NY waters!
Join the Education Team as we seine for fish and discover the incredible wildlife that call the shores their home. This program takes places down on the sand, so please note your feet may get wet or muddy. We'll also take this opportunity to do a quick cleanup and pick up any washed up marine debris that has found its way onto the shore.
This program is free! All supplies are provided.
WHEN: On Saturday June 7st, 2pm to 4pm. Drop by at any time!
WHO: All ages are welcome. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
WHERE: We will meet at the Penn Water Access Area. Please wear comfortable shoes that you don't mind getting wet, and bring water and sun protection. Note: The PWAA is roughly a 10 minute walk from the parking lot along a flat, gravel trail.
Don't forget to pack water, sun screen, and whatever else you need to be comfortable outside on the trails.
If you have questions about accessibility or accommodation, please email our Education Team at U0NTUGVkdWNhdGlvbiB8IHBhcmtzICEgbnkgISBnb3Y= or call our office (718) 277-2420 x5003.
