Tour de Rot: Summer Soilstice Bike Ride

Welcome to the first ever Tour de Rot: Summer Soil-stice Bike Ride! Get ready to compete with other teams in this scavenger hunt and pedal through scenic routes, visiting iconic landmarks to celebrate composting, community gardens and sustainability projects cross Brooklyn.

We'll gather on Sat, Jun 21, 2025 at 12:00 PM and hit the streets at 1:00 PM sharp. We'll start and finish at BKROT's flagship site, Know Waste Lands Community Garden. Whether you're a seasoned cyclist or just looking for a leisurely ride, join us for a fun-filled day of cycling, exploring, and enjoying the longest day of the year!

About BK ROT

All proceeds from this inaugural Tour de Rot ride will benefit youth programming at BK ROT, New York City's first community-supported, bike-powered, fossil fuel free food waste hauling and composting service. Our operations provide accessible jobs and sustained professional development for emerging environmental leaders.

Rules:

1. Safety first! Helmets on/ follow traffic rules/ be kind
2. Teams ride together (aka no splitting up to hit more spots!)
3. Take photos with your ride cards and tag @bk_rot

SCHEDULE

12-1 PM Assemble!

Gather at Know Waste Lands with your teams, pick up your clues, map and ride card. Put your heads together with your team to map out your route!

1-4 PM Ride!

Hit as many clue locations as you can in 3 hours, taking photos of your team at the landmarks. There will also be some bonus point locations/ activities - stay tuned!

4-5 PM Prizes!

Tally up your points and crown the winners!

5 PM After Party!

Want to keep hanging with your team and the friends you made along the way? Join us for a drink and hang at a nearby spot. Details tbd.
