The 2025 600 Black Women+ Camera Cookout is an event for the members and mentees of 600 Black Women+. The weekend focuses on hands on training and in person learning and networking to benefit members. We will be visiting various camera rental houses, camera vendors, and business of interests in New York City. All three days are scheduled as 12 hour days. We hope you will attend all the events scheduled.

Info: Learn Virtual Production with a panel from the NYU Virtual Production team.
Info: Learn the basics of Focus Pulling & Camera Operating with the SOC. We will cover all the technical tools of the trade as well as the practical knowledge necessary to work as a 1st AC & Focus Puller. Cinetape, Light Ranger, WCU4, and Preston FIZ will be provided for a hands-on demonstration. Members of the Society of Camera Operators (SOC) will cover tools of the craft. We will break into cells to walk through best practices for each tool. O'Connor Heads, Gear Heads, EZ Rigs, Ergo Rigs, and Shooting at the Hip and Shoulder will be covered.
Info: Join us for a Lighting Demo with Lux Lighting. This workshop will be an instructional guide to various lighting sources and a DP guided instruction on how to light a scene with a three point lighting set up.

Info: Join Steadicam Operator Instructors for a hands on training. This will be an introduction to Steadicam workshop starting with the basics.
