📚 Lecture: “The People Maintaining the World's Rarest Traditions”

🎤 Speaker: BBC Senior Journalist, Eliot Stein

Join us for a captivating lecture with Eliot Stein, a senior journalist at the BBC, as he shares inspiring stories from his travels around the globe to meet extraordinary individuals who are preserving some of the world’s most remarkable cultural rites on the verge of disappearance.

Drawing from his new book, Custodians of Wonder, Eliot will take us to rural Peru, where the last Inca bridge master risks his life each year to reconstruct a grass-woven suspension bridge essential to the Inca Road System. He’ll also introduce us to the only three women in Sardinia who know the art of crafting the world’s rarest pasta, a family of alchemists in southern India guarding the secret to a legendary metal mirror, and a dedicated individual in Japan preserving a 700-year-old soy sauce recipe.

Eliot's writing has appeared in major publications, including The New York Times and National Geographic.

Don’t miss this opportunity to celebrate the remarkable people keeping traditions alive with Eliot Stein!
