Leena Salim is a household name of stage, screen and the entertainment scene in Singapore. In this special performance, she joins The Session Band, a versatile group well known in the Australian music scene.
East Meets West will be an afternoon of jazz styles with flavours of international and musical diversity, where Leena Salim (East) meets The Session Band (West).
Leena has travelled the world singing jazz and cabaret. With her comes a suitcase of amusing stories and scintillating tales of her travels in songs from an Asian perspective of the Western world.
The Session Band are a self-contained musical entertainment package who have individually played with some of the greatest in the music world including James Morrison, Galapagos Duck, Don Burrows, Pavarotti, Shirley Bassey, Acker Bilk, Bob Barnard, Graeme Bell and many major Australian jazz and cabaret artists.
Don’t miss the beautiful merging of music and musical culture in a once-only show at the Brisbane Jazz Club on June 19th.
Sharing the Stage with Leena are the amazing talents of Russell Bayne - Guitar, Peter Uppman - Trumpet / Vocals / Flugelhorn, Rod Ford - Drums / Vocals and Jo Bloomfield – Piano / Bass.
