Instructor: Jim Vacca
We examine both the Old and New Testaments and look at how the ancient texts are reflected in American Literature. For instance, Steinbeck's novel, The Grapes of Wrath, directly references Exodus. With wit, humor, and insight, we discuss a variety of authors and discover how they not only reflect Biblical themes but also advance our American Identity in their novels, poems, and essays. There will also be a "show and tell" aspect to the class as I share my many books, letters, games, art, and other objects to expand our discussions.
