We will start the evening off with two rope performances 🎭.
These performances will feature two international rope artists from Germany 🇩🇪, as well as local artist Leela DeLieto 🎨.
Since 2021, VAEGABOUND + SAPIEHA have shared their knowledge and passion in all topics in kink and sxxuality with a special focus on Shibari.
VAEGABOUND operates at the intersection of bondage, dance, martial arts, and photography 📸. As a systemic coach, kink educator, and rigger, he unites these disciplines into an art form that goes far beyond technique into a language of touch, aesthetics, and emotion.
SAPIEHA shares her knowledge as a yoga teacher, rope switch, and kink educator to explore the body, mind, and emotions. For her, kink is a gateway to the inner world, a game of surrender and control in which connection plays a central role.
Both share a deep love for the art of semenawa as introduced by Naka Akira Sensei 🪢. This form of tying writes a story where one can explore the darkest hidden parts of the psyche and offer suffering as beauty. Semenawa takes us on a journey of dancing with the tension and dichotomy of beauty and agony, which is an innate part of our human experience if we choose to welcome all elements of the self and feelings.
Leela Ma is a visual artist 🎨, rope bottom, feral mystic, and BD*M educator who works at the crossroads of Eros, Art, & altered states. She is both a sadist and masochist 🔥, and draws creative inspiration from the paradox of pain & desire. She began her rope journey in 2020 in Germany 🇩🇪 during lockdown & sees no end of her journey in sight.
✨ After our performances, the floor opens up for an Open Rope Jam 🎶: a space to tie, get tied, or simply hang out and watch 👀.
All experience levels welcome. Bring rope if you have it. Mats will be provided to tie on, but if you have extra things to make you feel comfortable, bring them along 🛋.
The jam will be an open space where no lessons or facilitation will be provided. We strive to offer a respectful and inclusive space for those who want to explore themselves in connection with others. Consent is the baseline.
Rope nerds, kink explorers, and anyone in between, please come through!
We recommend arriving when doors open to sign waivers the Circus Center requires for event entry.
Bring extra pillows and mats for more comfort. We will provide floor seating options, so if you are in need of more than pillows, come prepared.
