Since 2000, St. Louis’ YOWIE has been perfecting a unique form of progressive rock that incorporates complex polyrhythms and guitar dissonance.
Relentlessly complex, brutally precise, and completely unpredictable YOWIE are a sonic force unlike any other. Since their formation in St. Louis, Missouri, the trio has carved out a singular space in the world of experimental and avant-rock, blending hyper-technical polyrhythms, jagged time signatures, and an almost inhuman synchronicity.
From their groundbreaking debut "Cryptooology" (2004) to the dystopian, shape-shifting chaos of "Damning With Faint Praise" (2012) and the apocalyptic intensity of "Synchromysticism" (2017), YOWIE have consistently pushed the limits of composition and execution. Their upcoming 2025 album on Skin Graft Records takes this even further, diving deeper into labyrinthine structures and kinetic, high-tension compositions.
Over the years, YOWIE have built a cult following across the globe, performing at experimental and forward-thinking festivals while sharing the stage with some of the most adventurous acts in underground music. For their Fall 2025 European tour, they will be available for select double-bill shows with the Japanese duo MOJA, promising nights of high-impact, boundary-defying sound.
