The event will see over 100 venues, including museums, galleries, and project spaces, showcasing the coolest Berlin art. Berlin Art Week will be happening in September, and this year it will be the 13th edition of this vibrant celebration of contemporary art. Highlights include the Gallery Weekend Berlin on September 13 with special events at around 50 galleries, and the 11th edition of Positions Berlin Art Fair featuring both established and emerging artists. The VBKI Prize will honor new gallerists, and the central BAW Garten at Gropius Bau will offer a free outdoor program with performances, workshops, and refreshments.
The festival will feature diverse musical genres with performances from Sam Smith, Niall Horan, The Chainsmokers, and more. Lollapalooza Berlin , part of the global Lollapalooza series, returns for its 2024 edition with an exciting lineup and vibrant atmosphere. Family-friendly activities include Kidzapalooza offering fun for children. Beyond music, the festival will showcase art installations, fashion and sustainability initiatives. The festival's highlight is the French Affair, with wine bars across Berlin offering Côtes du Rhône wines paired with French snacks. Berlin Food Week celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2024 spotlighting Berlin’s rich culinary scene. The festival also includes workshops on sustainability and quality, cooking demos and special restaurant events. With over 50 vendors offering a range of hot sauces and chili products, your taste buds are in for a treat. The Berlin Chili Festival is a spicy extravaganza you won't want to miss! Here you can catch the "League of Fire" professional chili eating competition, and on the 8th, the amateur competition could be your chance to qualify for next year’s pro event. Everything is set to enjoy delicious food from trucks and BBQ stalls, craft beer, and cocktails. The festival also features live music from bands like "The Fuckheads," comedy shows, and a spicy cabaret burlesque. There's a beer garden, kids’ area, and chili workshops by Alexander Hicks. Tickets are just €5 for both days, and the event is family-friendly with well-behaved dogs welcome.
This free event transforms the city into a glowing spectacle with famous landmarks like the Berlin Cathedral and Brandenburg Gate illuminated by stunning light art installations and projections from international artists. The Festival of Lights in Berlin will be happening in October and will mark its 20th anniversary with the theme "Celebrating Freedom."
