LieBERTANGO is excited to welcome Laura Vargas & Daniel Martinez to Embrace Berlin. The professional tango dancers from Colombia will be giving workshops (Wednesday with Nury Dominguez) and performing a show – presented by Nury Dominguez (LieBERTANGO) in cooperation with Hsiao Wang Wendy (Berlinos Aires).
𝑳𝒂𝒖𝒓𝒂 𝑽𝒂𝒓𝒈𝒂𝒔 & 𝑫𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒆𝒍 𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒛 were Stage Tango World Champions in 2005 and 2007 at the Open Japan Championships, multiple finalists at the Mundial de Tango in Buenos Aires, and have received numerous awards in the categories of Stage, Group, and Salón Tango.
For over 25 years, they have worked as show dancers, choreographers, and tango instructors around the world. Their dance style is known for refined technique, precise movement, playfulness, and great musicality. A key focus of their work is training professional dance couples who now perform internationally. For many years, they organized the traditional milonga Elite Tanguera at Salón Málaga – a symbolic venue that has been declared a cultural heritage site of the city of Medellín. They currently hold the title Vals-de-Pista Champions at Tangovía Manizales 2025 and run their own tango school, Obsession Dance Studio, in Medellín. This duo is considered among the maestros who have significantly shaped and influenced the tango scene in Medellín.
