About this Event

🌱 OPEN FUTURES: A SOLAR-POWERED OPEN MIC 🌞

In these challenging times, we choose to gather. To dream better. To imagine louder.

To tell stories that grow like gardens. 🌻

OPEN FUTURES is a solar-powered open mic and creative gathering for people and artists of all disciplines — musicians, poets, storytellers, dancers, performers, filmmakers, dreamers of any kind — to share works that sprout from kindness, hope, imagination, and regenerative futures.

You have from 1 to 10 minutes max to present something — improvised or prepared — driven either by love, empathy, peace, social and climate justice or that fits within a solarpunk or optimistic future context, such as an ode to a train powered by algae, a love story under bioluminescent trees, a beat inspired by community gardens in the sky, and a paragraph or two on where were you, when humanity took the unanimous vow to heal the earth and themselves.

What is solarpunk?

More than a mood, it’s a movement, a radical commitment to envisioning futures rooted in sustainability, equity, joy, and community care. It resists dystopia – not with naïve optimism, but with collective imagination and grounded action, where -everyone- is free.

We’ll gather at 15:00 in Tempelhofer Feld, where our host Roberto Andrés (co-founder of the ecological film collective ) will open the portal with a storytelling monologue, setting the tone of this imagined world — from 2025 to 2044 and beyond — and leaving you, the creators, to fill in the rest.

The mic will be open until 18:00, intertwine with moments of movement, mingling, games and music coming from plants, yes, literal plants that will sing their own songs through the magic of .

You can find the Exact Location in our . Here is also where we will post updates of our event and anything that can help you prepare for before and after this afternoon.
