"- The first album of saxophonist and composer Miłosz Pieczonka, recorded with a Trio in Berlin in July 2023. The album ""Asleep"" is music from the current contemporary jazz avant- garde, which is a great inspiration for the leader of the project.
- The album ""Asleep"" is the debut album of Miłosz Pieczonka. To record this album, Miłosz invited his musician friends from Berlin: Lenny Rehm on drums, Pascal Jarchow on double bass and Fabian Willmann on tenor saxophone as a guest on two tracks.
The album ""Asleep"" is a tribute to the leader's first inspirations and musical passions, i.e. improvised music. The album contains purely instrumental music with original compositions by Miłosz, which combines very strong and energetic improvisations with equally surprising romantic melodies. The music from the album ""Asleep"" is inspired by the works of Ornette Coleman, Tomasz Stańko and many other masters of improvised music, but the language and interactions of the musicians live are very individual and the sound of the saxophone is personal and expressive.
The album ""Asleep"" was created out of the need to express a lot of emotions and make specific musical ideas and experiences realistic.
- Miłosz Pieczonka, on a daily basis associated with Berlin and Warsaw. Starting from classical education, through jazz and improvisation, to a passion for rock, hip-hop and punk, Miłosz's work is clearly diverse. He is a versatile instrumentalist, drawing on his beloved saxophonists such as Johnny Hodges and Ornette Coleman. His music is a combination of extreme emotions and experiences that find a common denominator. As he says himself, he doesn't want to confide his music in any framework and discover new sounds and solutions over time. As a composer, he also derives great joy from composing and listening to classical
music, especially J. Sibelius or G. Ligeti.
Pieczonka is also known for bands such as USO 9001 and Kosmonauci, which he co-founded. Despite his young age, he has already given concerts all over Europe and collaborated with many renowned artists, m.in. Marcin Masecki, Paulina Przybysz, members of the band Błoto, Frank Gratkowski, Felix Robin, Luca Curcio, Marek Pospieszalski, Wojtek Mazolewski.
