miniLab is back for more sound experiments, focused on improvised/echtzeit music and female/Flinta musicians.
The 10. edition brings together the performer Lorena Izquierdo in duo with Kristupas Gikas (turntables), artist from Lithuania.
We will also have first time the trio Laura.aLL/GubbiAnn/Lun Ário (strings, electronics, synths).
And closing the night an unique quintet with all musicians.

Lorena Izquierdo is a vocalist, performer and poet from Valencia. She has spent the past 8 years building her independent artistic career between Spain and Germany, mostly residing in Berlin with the mission to build bridges between the two countries’ musical cultures. Her main interests are the interconnections of sound/voice with performativity and the lyrical and philosophical aspects involved in it. In her pieces she explores different concepts through the body, voice, poetic language, sound, space and time.

Kristupas Gikas is an improviser/sound artist/DJ/vinyl record producer based in Vilnius, Lithuania. He regularly performs with the flute trio "Fleitų 3", the ensembles "Artisans" and "Ferry Good Company." As DJ Extended, he plays turntables with Kazimieras Jušinskas in a duo constellation and is a member of the band "Sneeze Etiquette."

Lun Ário _ Musician and performer from Lisbon, lives and works in
Berlin. Experimental, improvised, sound art. Lun Ário (they/
them) is active in music, visual art, performance and film.
By merging several seemingly incompatible worlds into a
new universe, Lun uses an audiovisual vocabulary that
addresses various social and political issues. Their work
often incorporates gender, sexuality and queer theory.
Musicaly they are interested in real time sampling of sounds
and mangling them in live performative contexts.

GubbiAnn _ Berlin-based portuguese artist (from the duo Chiseling Clouds). GubbiAnn plays improvised electronic music creating noise and ambient soundscapes using instruments ranging from DIY oscillators, infra-red detectors, contact mikes, circuit bending or
salvaged tape recorders, going through live sampling and mangling.

Laura.aLL is a music project by Laura Leiner. The Brazilian artist lives and works in Berlin and has been the guitarist of the band M.i.p.V _ Músicas intermináveis para Viagem ("Endless Music for Tripping") since 2004. She is an artist and researcher with a multidisciplinary background encompassing music, performing arts, sound art, photography, and journalism. Her work ranges from experimental art to ambient music, psychedelic rock, electroacoustic, noise, and minimal.
