Overview
This two-day workshop, led by Berlin-based photographer Milena Zara, explores creative techniques for working with flash. Inspired by the exhibition White Nights in Wonderland by Feng Li 冯立, you will experiment with light, develop new approaches to portrait and street photography, and learn how to transform everyday moments into compelling visual stories.
Anyone of any skill-level can join this course.
We ask you to bring a DSLR and flash camera with you, as it is required to take part.

About the host
Milena Zara is a queer photographer from Berlin with Persian roots. She thrives on capturing bold, expressive moments at the intersection of fashion, nightlife, and subculture. Her signature style combines direct flash, high contrast, and a raw film-like palette – a snapshot aesthetic that recalls Y2K paparazzi, candid documentary, and street/editorial hybrids. Playful yet rebellious, her images blend the polish of high fashion with the grit of candid, in-the-scene energy. Milena’s work celebrates authenticity, attitude, and vulnerability, challenging convention while honoring the culture around her.
