Author & Punisher + Bong-Ra

Prepare for a Halloween descent into machine-wracked ritual and apocalyptic breakcore-drenched doom. A one-man industrial-drone doomsmith, Tristan Shone’s Author & Punisher engineers his own monstrous instruments, hulking metal devices that snarl, resist, and punish their creator with every movement. His throat is ripped raw through trachea mics while the custom-built machines recoil and grind around him. Dense slabs of sounds are constructed and clawed from his body, straining towards the melodic whilst bolts and scorched transistors howl. ‘25 will see his eighth full-length album released on Relapse Records.

Jason Köhnen’s brvtal vision of breakcore, the crawling chaos of doom and noise that is Bong-Ra is now joined by a new live lineup with a rot-fresh sound shaped by decades of auditory demolition. A dense and hypnotic melding of industrial metal, dissonant electronics, and nihilistic tonecraft: bestial down-tuned riffs running ragged and roughshod over snarling vocals, jagged patterns and eerie textures spiraling into a narrative of dysmorphic, eroding dread.
