FESTIWELT, das Netzwerk Berliner Filmfestivals, lädt zur 11. Ausgabe der Langen Nacht der Berliner Filmfestivals ein.
Rund 20 Festivals zeigen preisgekrönte Filme aus aller Welt – darunter auch einige Deutschland-Premieren. Von bewegenden Dokus bis hin zu animierten Kurzfilmen, von Indie-Perlen bis zu Genre-Highlights – das Programm ist so vielfältig wie die Berliner Festivallandschaft selbst.
Freut euch auf ein cineastisches Feuerwerk mit Geschichten über Iggy Pop und Björk, True Crime und Dämonen, weihnachtliche Momente und Tiere auf der Flucht – die erste Reise nach Mallorca und der erste Kuss inklusive.
Ab 17 Uhr läuft das Programm drinnen, ab 20:30 Uhr unter freiem Himmel. Mit dabei: Festivalmacher*innen und Filmschaffende, die Einblicke hinter die Kulissen geben.
Denn ein Hintergrund der Veranstaltung ist, dem Publikum die jeweiligen Berliner Filmfestivals vorzustellen und sie ihm schmackhaft zu machen.
Ein weiterer Hintergrund ist das politische Anliegen von FESTIWELT: Als Verein und Netzwerk mit über 20 Mitgliederfestivals betreibt die Institution seit Jahren hartnäckig Kulturpolitik beim Berliner Senat und Parlament. Denn viele der Festivals erhalten keinerlei Förderung durch die Stadt – obwohl ihre Initiator*innen viel für die Berliner Kulturlandschaft leisten, Gäste aus aller Welt in die Stadt bringen, die Kinos füllen und dem Publikum Filme zeigen, die sonst kaum irgendwo zu sehen wären.

FESTIWELT, the network of Berlin film festivals, invites you to the 11th edition of the Long Night of Berlin Film Festivals.
Around 20 festivals will show award-winning films from all over the world, including several German premieres. From moving documentaries to animated short films, indie gems, and genre highlights, the program is as diverse as Berlin's festival landscape itself.
Look forward to a cinematic fireworks display with stories about Iggy Pop and Björk, true crime and demons, Christmas moments and animals rescued in times of war —including a first trip to Mallorca and a first kiss.
The program starts at 5 p.m. indoors and at 8:30 p.m. open air.
Also in attendance: festival organizers and filmmakers with behind the scenes insights.
This is because one of the event's goals is to introduce the audience to the respective Berlin film festivals and whet their appetite for them.
Another background is the political agenda of FESTIWELT: as an association and network with over 20 member festivals, the institution has been persistently pursuing cultural policy with the Berlin Senate and Parliament for years. This is because many of the festivals receive no funding from the city – even though their initiators contribute a great deal to Berlin's cultural landscape, bring guests from all over the world to the city, fill cinemas, and show films to Berlin audiences that would otherwise be seen anywhere else.
