The Movimento Novo Experience with Beiramar
Contribution-Based Workshop – All Proceeds Donated to Capoeira arts foundation’s (CAFs) Casa de Cultura.
For the second time in the USA, Capoeira master teacher, filmmaker, and one of Movimento Novo’s creators and directors, Itapuã Beiramar, brings to the Bay Area the powerful and inspiring workshop: “The Movimento Novo Experience.”
This unique 3-hour immersion will explore the history and foundations of the world-renowned Capoeira Roda "Movimento Novo," born in Rio de Janeiro in 2008 and inspired by the legendary Barracão rodas of Mestre Waldemar in Salvador during the 1940s. Known for its openness, playfulness, and the absence of flags and group boundaries, the Movimento Novo Roda became a global sensation on YouTube, sparking a new way to connect through Capoeira.
In this workshop, participants will learn and practice the core principles and physical foundations that gave rise to this movement—a Roda where friendship, dialogue, and joy are central to the game.
This experience is open to all capoeiristas, regardless of style, group, or lineage.
It is a call to those who wish to Vadiar, make friends, and celebrate life through Capoeira.
