In this course, students will learn and build on clinical, diagnostic and treatment skills as well as treatment protocols learned in prior modules. Students will gain proficiency in clinical treatment skills and review many case examples.Students will be exposed to Daoist medicine theory that underlies medical qigong and Chinese medicine practice.
They will be introduced to teachings on the 9 palaces, the five failures, as written about in Chinese medicine texts and continue inquiry into the Dao de jing and Nei Jing as pertains to this clinical practice work.
Students will deepen differential diagnosis pertaining to the five Zang organs and the Fu organs and learn clinical skills to apply treatment techniques appropriately to address organ imbalances and common Western diagnoses.
Students will learn the most effective and common acupuncture point protocols for working with common conditions.
They will review the Bagua, Restore the Sinews, Chakra Clearing, and Windows to the Sky protocols, as well as practice Shi Zhen needles, Qi needles, Qi balls used with Color and Sound.
They will learn the depths and theory of the 13 Ghost Point Protocol and practice this in partnered pairs.
Students will also continue to learn, practice and refine the Eight Brocade Qigong form for self-cultivation and deepen understanding of the organ systems and channels.
They will be introduced to the use of medical qigong prescriptions in clinical practice and practice standing meditation practice, Zhang Zuang.
We will also discuss the use and role of ethics in Medical Qigong therapy, including how to work with difficult patients and when to refer out to another practitioner.
