Split Lip Rayfield

Power string band trio, Split Lip Rayfield, known for their “Stage Five Thrash Grass sound,” became notoriously popular in Midwest bluegrass circles around the turn of the 21st century. They enjoyed a huge following and then a near-fatal blow when founding member Kurt Rundstrom tragically succumbed to cancer in 2007. After some fits and starts, the boys are getting the band back together and performing a few select shows. We are thrilled to have these genre-defining luminaries back after a long hiatus. Last time they performed at Bartlett in 2013, torrential unexpected rain began to fall— yet no one left the lawn. This promises to be a not-to-miss reunion.
