Από τις 25 – 29 Ιουνίου, η μεγάλη διακαλλιτεχνική διοργάνωση Back to Athens 2025, παρουσιάζει 33 εκθέσεις, εγκαταστάσεις, με performance και προβολές από καλλιτέχνες και επιμελητές από την Ελλάδα και το εξωτερικό. Καλλιτέχνες και πρόσωπα που ξεχώρισαν, έργα και ιδέες που δημιουργήθηκαν τη σεζόν 2024- 2025 και σκιαγραφούν τη ζωντανή σκηνή της σύγχρονης τέχνης, φιλοξενούνται στο BtA2025, στην καρδιά του Αθηναϊκού κέντρου, στους εμβληματικούς χώρους του Μεγάρου Ησαΐα. Το BtA στην υπερδεκαετή παρουσία του στο αθηναϊκό πολιτιστικό γίγνεσθαι της σύγχρονης τέχνης γεφυρώνει το χάσμα μεταξύ των καλλιτεχνών, του παραγόμενου έργου και του κοινού σε μία ετήσια επιθεώρηση που καταγράφει, σημειώνει χωρίς να σχολιάζει τάσεις, ιδέες, πρόσωπα και έργα.
⬩ The Division of Life – a review⬩ Η ζωή διαιρείται ακούσια ανάμεσα στο πραγματικό. Μέσα στην ιδιαίτερη συγκυρία που βιώνουμε, διερευνούμε το εφικτό και το φαντασιακό, το επιθυμητό. Στη διάρκεια των τελευταίων δεκαετιών ένα μεγάλο μέρος της διαδικασίας παραγωγής της τέχνης έχει κατακερματιστεί τόσο που χάνεται η γενική εικόνα, με αποτέλεσμα η ασαφής κατανόηση του πραγματικού σκοπού της καλλιτεχνικής δημιουργίας να οδηγεί, αφενός, σε επιφανειακές ή περιστασιακές εκτιμήσεις και, αφετέρου, σε μια συνεχώς διευρυνόμενη απόσταση από το ίδιο το έργο. Η ρουτίνα και η αβεβαιότητα της επιτυχίας μετατρέπουν την καλλιτεχνική διαδικασία του έργου σε «δουλειά», της οποίας ο κύριος στόχος είναι να κερδίσει όσο το δυνατόν περισσότερα με τη λιγότερη προσπάθεια, θυσιάζοντας πολλές φορές την ίδια την έμπνευση. Ο κόσμος της τέχνης είναι ένας σημαντικός οικονομικός παράγοντας, ωστόσο ο αυτοσχεδιασμός και η χωρίς πλάνο προσέγγιση προβολής και προώθησης της τέχνης εμποδίζει την ανάπτυξη της και την ισομερή κατανομή των θετικών στοιχείων της στο κοινωνικό σύνολο.

Back to Athens 2025 International Art Meeting presents 33 exhibitions, installations, performances and screenings featuring Greek and international artists and curators. BtA 2025 will take place from June 25 to 29 in the heart of Athens' city center at the monumental Isaiah Mansion, showcasing artists and curators, along with artworks and ideas created during the 2024-2025 season that shape the vibrant contemporary art scene. With over ten years of presence in the Athenian contemporary art scene, BtA continues to bridge the gap between artists, artworks, and the public. It provides a deeper understanding of art trends, ideas, individuals, and the works themselves, presented in an annual review that documents these aspects without taking a critical approach.
⬩ The Division of Life – a review⬩ Life appears to be divided into the real, the provisional, and the imaginary—the desirable. Over the past few decades, much of the art production process has grown into an increasingly complex and fragmented process, often loosing from the overall context. The loss of a broader perspective, when paired with the lack of understanding of the meaning behind artistic production leads to occasional misinterpretations, as well as an increasing distance from the work itself. Routine and the lack of a sense of achievement, reduces the artistic work to a “job” whose main goal is to maximize gain with minimal effort, often sacrificing inspiration itself. The art world is a major economic force; however, the lack of a clear strategy and structured promotion limits its growth and the reach of its benefits and positive impact on society.
