Celebrate Juneteenth 2025

Celebrate Juneteenth with eclectic programs for all ages! On June 19, the Museum will honor the holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the U.S. by celebrating the legacy of the great Black American musician Louis Armstrong.

12:15 p.m. Scavenger hunt game focused on Black music and film in the core exhibition Behind the Screen

1:00 p.m. Edge School of the Arts dance performance (FREE)

2:00 p.m. Louis Armstrong Collage Animation Workshop (FREE)

3:00 p.m. Music performance by The Entrfied Band (FREE)

4:00 p.m. Screening of Martin Ritt’s jazz musical PARIS BLUES starring Sidney Poitier, Paul Newman, and Louis Armstrong, followed by a conversation with Louis Armstrong House Museum Historian Hyland Harris. (Film ticket or Museum admission)

Throughout the day, visitors can drop in to the Media Game Lab to animate a dance scene or play games influenced by Black music.

All programs are included in Museum admission unless noted. Museum admission is free 2:00–6:00 p.m.
