Hey settlers! Come play in BOSCO'S Settlers of Catan National Qualifier Tournament!
It's Saturday, May 24·12:30 – 6:30pm at BOSCO'S, 2301 Spenard Rd,
Get ready to compete in BOSCO's upcoming Catan Tournament, where strategy, negotiation, and sharp gameplay determine who earns the title of Champion! All games will use the Catan English 5th Edition base rules and follow the official Catan Championship guidelines.
Depending on the number of players, the tournament format is as follows:
12–28 players: 3 Preliminary games → Top 4 advance directly to the Final (4 total games)
29+ players: 3 Preliminary games → Top 16 advance to Semi-Finals → 4 winners advance to the Final (5 total games)
Each game is expected to last around 60–90 minutes. The Preliminary rounds will use preconstructed board layouts, identical across all tables to ensure fairness. The Final round will feature a fully randomized board.
Gameplay will follow a combined building/trading phase as described in the Catan Almanac. There will be no round timer, but if a game starts to run long, the judge may impose a 3-minute turn timer per player to maintain pace.
A full tournament rules breakdown will be given by the event judge at the start of the event.

Semi-Finalists (top 16 players) receive a Rivals of Catan: Klaus, Guardian of Catan card.
Finalists (top 4 players) will receive a Spring tile set and set of fuzzy game pieces.
The Winner will receive all this plus 1 Brick Sprite Catanimal enamel pin and a guaranteed seat at the Catan National Championship.
PLEASE NOTE: PER THE OFFICIAL CATAN LEAGUE RULES AND REGULATIONS YOU MUST BE 18 YEARS OLD TO PLAY IN THE NATIONALS.
The invitation will be given to the highest ranked person over the age of 18.
