It is our goal to acknowledge the true meaning of Memorial Day, which is to pay our respects to those who sacrificed their lives while defending our nation.We are asking for our members and the community to come together to support this project. Hundreds of gravesites are in need of maintenance and many headstone markers are overgrown with sod. We hope to pay tribute to these soldiers by making their names be seen and recognized.The Legion's Auxiliary and the VFW will be placing American Flags and Crosses at each gravesite to indicate which veteran headstones to be maintained.We will have tools on hand but we encourage bringing your own if you prefer:GlovesTools to cut sod: Lawn knives, Boxcutters and carpet cutting tool. Pruning sawsHand tools: trowels, pruners & cultivatorsScrub brushes (natural or nylon bristles, no plastic or metal)5 gallon bucketWater jugs & spray bottles (no pressure washers)This is a great opportunity to pay respects and to giveback this Memorial Day weekend. You are welcome to bring your family or friends, the more volunteers we get, the larger impact we can make.
