Ángela Meléndez will be joining us on May 19. Ángela trained and performed as a professional ballet and contemporary dancer, she has been dancing the tango for eighteen years, performing as a traditional dancer and in cabaret performances. She brings an academic understanding of body movement, a lively sense of humour and a mastery of both the following and leading role to all her dancing and teaching (teaching regularly at La Maleva, La Cachivachería and El Zorzal Cultural, BsAs).
She will give a short class on elements and tools for rhythmic tango during the May 19 session and she will be available throughout the usual session time to give individual advice and help. Entry price will be the normal BARGAIN €5, but we will have the donativo hat there for you to add a payment to show your appreciation of the special help/value she offers to your tango. Those of you who attend the classes she will give on the Saturday (la Milonguita Crème de la Crème) and Sunday (Tango11) will be able to revise elements from these also with other dancers and with her supervision.

BY BICYCLE / WALKING: at the backside of Central Station (Muziekgebouw side), take the ferry to IJ-Plein. Off the ferry, go straight ahead on the Meeuwenlaan. After some 800 m passing the DIRK supermarket, turn right. At the end of that street, in front of Foodmarket, cross the parking area diagonally to the left. Ring the doorbell at 149 (Weagree). Alternatively, it is some 14 minutes walking from the ferry.
BY METRO: 52, NOORD-ZUID LIJN; exit at Noorderpark. Walk via the Johan van Hasseltweg, Meeuwenlaan, Hamerstraat – then walk past the gates to the bell board for no. 149.

⭐ What is La Chispa?
La Chispa is a social tango práctica inspired by the oldskool Golden Age tradition. Dancers of all levels are encouraged to learn from each other, with more experienced dancers supporting those with less experience—just as it was in the prácticas of Buenos Aires. There are no rigid structures, just a space for exploration, learning, and community.
