Queer open mic night: Stories Out Loud

Stories Out Loud!

We invite queer authors, poets, writers, and community members to take the mic and share their words. Whether it’s fiction, poetry, memoir, or something in between, if your story reflects queer life, love, struggle, or joy — this stage is for you.

This evening will also feature readings from a few special guest authors whose books are proudly on our shelves at ABC.

LGBTQIA+ voices are at the heart of this event. Allies are welcome to share as well, as long as your story honors and centers the queer community. We hold this space with openness, empathy, and respect, aiming for a room where everyone feels safe to share and to listen.

Bring your words and speak them out loud! We will celebrate them as they are: messy, beautiful, defiant, tender, and every other color in between.

Come to speak. Come to listen. Come to feel seen, heard, and connected.

Book your ticket, and feel free to donate whatever feels right for you. We’ll have your name at the door, and the mic lineup is first come, first served. Everyone’s welcome to perform, but we’ll be spotlighting stories, poems, and spoken word first.
