Join the GFWC Women’s Citizenship Club of Alamosa for a jubilant community gathering as we unveil “Into Thin Air: Cranes in Flight,” a larger-than-life bronze sculpture by nationally acclaimed wildlife artist Jocelyn Russell.
Why Sandhill Cranes?
Every spring roughly 25,000 of these graceful birds fill the sky over the San Luis Valley, drawing thousands of visitors and symbolizing renewal, resilience, and the natural beauty that binds our community.
Commissioned and fund-raised by the Women’s Citizenship Club of Alamosa, this public artwork will find its permanent home at the Colorado Welcome Center on Sixth & State, creating an iconic new landmark for downtown Alamosa.
