WHY IS MODERN SLAVERY RELEVANT IN AUSTRALIA AND HOW CAN WE HELP COMBAT IT?

We have more slaves in the world now than any other point of history! It is here in Australia but our biggest connection to it is in the estimated $28 billion worth of imports. Working with the three legs of the society stool - government business and civil society/consumers - there have been innovations that make it clear there is a shared responsibility. So what can we do? - not just run ambulance services at the bottom of the cliff but also build fences at the top of the cliff!

CAROLYN and FUZZ KITTO are National Co-Directors of Be Slavery Free and have worked around social justice issues and modern slavery in particular for over two decades. They bring a wealth of experience in collaborating with like-minded organisations to curate a conversation that moves us forward in ending modern slavery.
