This link is the registration form for the 2025 YVA Summer Pole vault camp. Click on this link and submit to register an athlete. It needs to be filled out separately for each athlete wishing to participate. Fees will be due the first day of camp by cash or check. Checks MUST be made out to Yuma School District 1.

Camp details....
We are excited to bring you another quality camp to help all those pole vault lovers to become better at the most exciting, most fun event in Track and Field! If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me!
Camp participants since 2012 have won 26 state titles and earned over 200 state medals…a testament to the quality of our camp and our coaches!
Dates/Times:
Beginner/Intermediate:
Monday, June 16th and Tuesday, June 17th
-Beginners (4-6th grade), 8:30am-9:45am
*Intermediate (6th up), 10:00am-11:45am
*for athletes who will compete next year
Advanced:
Wednesday, June 18th and Thursday, June 19th
**Advanced (7th grade & up), 8:30am-Noon
**Either high school age or meet these minimums
Girls - 7’6, Boys – 9’

Camp Staff:
Jack Lubbers – Yuma area vault coach - Currently coaching Yuma, Lone Star and Otis vaulters. Since the 2003 Season, has coached 89 State qualifiers, 59 State placers (21 in top three) and 7 State Champions at Yuma High School as well as multiple state champions and qualifiers at Lone Star and Otis.
Lucas Lubbers –2007 3A State PV Champion, 4-year letter winner Fort Hays Track & Field (decathlon-pole vault), As Head Track Coach at Yuma, led team to back-to-back state titles in 22 & 23.
Reese Shay – Pole vault coach at Wray. He coached his son Ron to the 2023 2A Pole vault championship and his son Reagan to the 2025 2A Pole vault championship and has many state qualifiers and state placers. He also coaches with the Above The Bar pole vault club.
Emily Merritt, Wray - 2009 3A State PV Champion, competed 2 years at Colby, qualifying for indoor nationals and 2 years at Eastern New Mexico, placing 3rd at the Indoor League meet. She is currently the VB coach at Wray. Coached multiple state placers and a state champion in Idalia, then a state placer while in Texas.

Randy Henderson - Legendary long time Sterling coach, currently coaching Merino and helping at multiple schools. He has coached multiple state champions and state placers.
Brian Christensen, Akron - Legendary coach of Akron vaulters, has multiple state champions and state placers.
Kelli Kite, Idalia - Has become a premiere 1A coach, consistently qualifying multiple athletes for the State meet and led her girls' team to the 2025 State Title!
Vance McCormick, Sedgwick County - Rising star in the 2A pole vault coaching ranks, has learned from the best and is helping Sedgco become a premiere program.
Dallas Ely, Lone Star - head coach at Lone Star that is learning the ropes and is set to continue the Longhorn pole vault tradition.
