DERBY 2025: A Day of Passion, Pride, and School Spirit!
The stage is set for one of the most highly anticipated school sporting events of the year — Derby 2025, taking place on Saturday, 9 August at Faure Stadium. Two powerhouse schools, Klein Nederburg Secondary School and New Orleans Secondary School, will go head-to-head in a day packed with thrilling rugby clashes, spirited cheerleading, and unmatched school pride.
This year’s derby promises to be more than just a battle on the field — it's a celebration of tradition, teamwork, and talent. The theme “Two Teams; One Spirit” perfectly captures the sportsmanship and unity that define this prestigious annual event.
The action kicks off early, with the Under 14A match at 10:00 AM, followed by the Under 15A and Under 16A games. Spectators can look forward to an exciting showcase of Girls Rugby at 12:55 PM, and a high-energy performance by NOSS Pompoms at 1:30 PM, right before the Under 19B match at 1:45 PM.
The cheer continues with the KNSS Pompoms energizing the crowd at 3:10 PM, followed by a special ceremony at 3:25 PM. The highlight of the day, the Under 19A showdown, will take place at 4:00 PM, promising an electrifying end to an unforgettable derby.
Both schools carry strong sporting legacies, and this Classic Clash will not only determine bragging rights but also reinforce the values of dedication, respect, and school pride.
