About the Session
Across two hours, you will be invited into the realm of ‘The Secret Garden’ in echo & bounce’s basement space to draw a nude life model. This event is in collaboration with Joy & Whimsy. Expect a flowery environment to inspire your artworks!
Unlike our other sessions, this one will be lightly guided to encourage experimentation in your work & learn different ways to express yourself in art.
All materials will be supplied to you! All you need to bring is yourself!
Towards the beginning, there will be a focus on gestural and warm up poses to get you ready for the tail end of the session- long pose. The model will be posing with props alongside a curated soundtrack and ambient lighting to spark your imagination
About Pearl of the World
Pearl of the World is a life drawing collective that solely delivers themed events, promoting creativity and use of imagination. We meet at echo & bounce monthly, under a different theme each time.
About Joy & Whimsy
Joy & Whimsy is an event series based on the lands of the Jagera and Turrbal people in Magandjin. This series has a focus on queer & femme mixed-genre musos in so called australia with an emphasis on safety, respect and zero tolerance for anti-social behaviour. Throughout August 21-24, artists across the community will be sharing their art and music.
Echo & Bounce
Echo & Bounce is at 596 Stanley St in Woolloongabba and functions as a community space and record store. They have ramen night on Thursdays and a bar you are welcome to get food and drinks throughout the session.
Important info
☆ Please arrive at 12:15 for a prompt 12:30pm start – arriving late distracts both the model and artists
☆ The studio space will be downstairs next to the bar
☆ Parking is extremely limited, so you are encouraged to use the Mater or Princess Theatre parking ~ the Mater bus stop is also a short 4-minute walk from the venue
