Throughout the day Wolverhampton glass artist Suzie from Suzie Lavender Contemporary Glass will be teaching two sessions of fused glass making techniques. You are welcome to attend either the morning or afternoon workshop or you can attend both sessions for the day at a discounted price. These workshops are suitable for beginners or as a refresher course. Your workshop ticket also entitles you to full entry to the Manor and Gardens.
The schedule for the day is as follows:
Morning Session 10:30am-12:30pm:
Sailboats Workshop – A fun fused glass workshop for you to create a unique and beautiful 2D glass sail using glass pieces, glass frits, powders. During the workshop you will learn about glass fusing techniques and be introduced to the materials and tools. Each participant will be able to choose from the selection of glass accessories to create a their sail in a colour scheme of their choice. The waves will be fired by Suzie and mounted in a wooden boat shaped base following the workshop.
Lunch (not provided) 12:30-1:30pm. Wightwick Manor has a cafe on site and many areas for enjoying your lunch in the fresh air if the weather suits.
Afternoon Session 1:30pm-3:30pm:
Platters & Curves Workshop - In this 2 hour workshop participants will be choosing from several options to create your own standing wave/curve or decorative dish. You will learn about slumping glass and choose the overall shape and colour scheme of your design. Each participant will be able to choose from a selection of glass accessories to create their design. Perfect for gifts or to keep for yourself!
Participants who are regular attendees of Suzie’s workshops are welcome to make different projects to save repetition if they contact Suzie in advance.
All creations will be kiln fired by Suzie following the sessions and then collection from Wightwick Manor (or postage of the work can be organised for a small fee) from 14days later.
Places are limited and expected to book up very quickly. Suitable for adults and for teens age 13 and over, under 16's must be accompanied by a participating adult.
Your workshop tickets also include full entry for the day to the Manor and Gardens.

Please note that access can be limited/difficult for persons of disability due to the room’s location on the first floor. There is no lift and the room is not wheelchair accessible. Other venues where Suzie also holds workshops do have access however, please contact Suzie for more information.
