Howden Vintage Day Team (HVD) is a small group of volunteers, who organise this annual free one day event celebrating vintage lifestyle from the 1930s to 1960s.
The event has grown over the years, attracting in excess of two thousand visitors from as far a field as Europe.
The Event highlights the historical beauty of Howden's architecture by taking visitors on a tour of the town by the various attractions put on for the day i.e. Howden Minster has been host to a stunning vintage wedding exhibition and 2023 will see it become host to a Fashion Emporium, celebrating fashion from the 1930s to 1960s, along with other attractions (See page announcements).
We hire and pay local performers, musicians and technicians providing a spectacular day of - Live Entertainment, Vintage Market, Dancing/displays, Classic Vehicles, Fashion exhibition and fun competitions to involve the younger generation.
The event also aims to encourage all interested local traders to become involved by embracing the vintage themes e.g. best dressed window, vintage themed food, activities and entertainment (See page announcements).
Howden also offers a great variety of food and beverages for all tastes providing many excellent pubs, cafes, takeaways, bakeries and an Ice- cream parlour situated in and around the town to keep you fed and watered. Any further information or interest in trading. Contact via their facebook page
