'Guardians of the Green - Protecting our Future'
Celebrate Botanic Gardens Week with us between 19-25 May by dropping in to explore our amazing and varied botanic collections, enjoy a picnic with family and friends, or participate in our free community activities.
Most of our free activities will take place on Sunday 25 May between 11am to 3pm. There will be behind the scenes tours, rose garden talks, wild native bee walks, poetry to music performances and a fun composting activity to name just a few of the activities.
Special guest, John Gabriele from ABC's Compost Heap will also be making an appearance at our Plant Sale on our Towri Centre deck. Be sure to ask him what native species would work best in your unique garden!
The Friends of the Garden will be at the event too selling their Botanic Garden books, art and photography on the Towri Centre deck.
Pani Café will have coffees, teas and hot chocolates for sale throughout the day and OMG Decadent Donuts will be selling their delicious donuts that are gluten, dairy, egg, and nut free.
Visit wollongongbotanicgarden.com.au/BGWeek for the full line-up of activities.
Botanic Gardens Week is an annual week of celebration to shed light on the role of plants in our lives and the important work botanic gardens undertake every day to conserve them for future generations. This year marks the 10th anniversary of this special national event.
We hope you can drop in to participate in these free activities and who knows, you may 'find your inner botanist'.
