Paws for a Cause 5K and JCHS Open House

MORE than "just a 5K"... stick around for a fun day at the Open House, too!
This is the 9th year for our Jefferson County Humane Society 5K walk/run. The money raised during this event will go towards the animals in our community. The race course is challenging, but fun when you bring your best friend along. This year we changed the name, but it will be the same event, but bigger and better! Can’t make it to the walk/run, but want to help out? Sponsor a dog in the shelter to get to go for a walk/run during the event!
Open house festivities begin around 11:30am- about the time the 5K wraps up. Some of the things to do...
Numerous tables set up featuring every facet of JCHS- volunteer/foster/clinic/ along with the Public Health Dept featuring a table dedicated to animal lead poisoning and other pet related concerns, Blessing of the Pets- with one of our incredible local priests, Rent a Dog- choice a shelter dog to take on a walk (with donation), Enjoy a cookout featuring.... hot dogs and other picnic goodies, Tour our beautiful facility, ask questions about what we do, and there will be vendors with items to purchase! Don't miss this FUN FILLED DAY!
The Open House is a free event with items and activities available for different prices and/ donation. The 5K is $35 until May 31st! Then the price increases! Register TODAY!!
