"ALL ABOUT SKETCHING SUPPLIES" is presented in two different ways:

Members Gently Used Art Supply Swap

An area will be provided for members to Swap Gently Used & Clean Art Supplies with other members. Bring you gently used or excess materials like watercolor paints, brushes, papers, sketching pads, usable markers, pens, bottled ink, art pencils, art tools, art books, art magazines and misc art supplies. This a free exchange to promote the reuse of materials while reducing waste. You may bring and not swap. Take only what you need. Items not taken will be donated to Dream Works. Open to active verified members of USk Wilmington NC only.

Test & Discover & Explore a Variety of Art Supplies That May Broaden Your Sketching Journey

Please participate in this both inspiring & educational indoor sketch meet. Discover new possibilities for your urban sketching style. Both seasoned sketchers and beginners will have fun at this activity focused on testing and experimenting a variety of sketching supplies. Experiment with various supplies, from the most common to unique and interesting. Test many graphite, wax & colored pencils, charcoal sticks & pencils, conte' & pastel crayons/sticks/pencils with blending stumps & kneaded erasers on appropriate papers for each. Test watercolor pencils & crayons with water-brush. Try oil pastel, soft & hard chalk pastels & markers like watercolor, acrylic, alcohol ink, chalk, highlighters on a variety of papers. Also experiment with soluble and permanent fine-liners, ballpoint & gel pens. Test everyday materials to add texture & spatter, lines & more. You can try your hand at drawing with natural wood materials & ink with twigs, bamboo, reeds, quills and Starbucks stirring stick (tools available when outdoor sketching). Test wet medias like gouache, metallic iridescent watercolor and see sketching aides, like viewfinders, view catcher, value finder & color wheels and compare all types of paper used in urban sketching!
