A Poet's Homecoming - with Ellen Stone

Join us at Otto Bookstore for a special afternoon of poetry, reflection, and celebration as we welcome Ellen Stone, a poet with roots in rural northeastern Pennsylvania, for the launch of her newest poetry collection: Everybody Wants to Keep the Moon Inside Them (Mayapple Press, 2025)

The gathering begins at 1:30 PM, with readings to start promptly at 2:00 PM. A book signing with Ellen will follow the reading.

Ellen Stone’s latest work explores what women carry - emotionally, generationally, and spiritually - through grief, motherhood, mental illness, and resilience. Her language is luminous, rooted in nature and memory, offering tender insight into what it means to hold and release.

This is more than a reading. It’s a poetic homecoming for an author whose voice has risen from the banks of the Susquehanna to pages of acclaimed literary journals nationwide.

About the Author
Ellen Stone grew up along the Susquehanna River and taught public school for over three decades while raising a family in Michigan. She is the author of What Is in the Blood and The Solid Living World, and her poetry has been featured in Third Coast, Sweet Lit, About Place, Michigan Quarterly Review, and more. Ellen is a co-editor of Public School Poetry, co-host of the Skazat! poetry series, and a 2024 Good Hart Artist-in-Residence.
