18th Century Sewing Workshop

Gearing up to the 250th anniversary celebration of American Independence, Willard Rev War will have afternoon workshops once a month to help people make 18th century outfits. This event is open to the public as well as students! We will be learning how to sew ladies’ fashions:
kerchief
pocket
day cap
apron
shift
petticoats
bedgown
jacket
gown
We will build on skill level as we go and begin with necessities.

Our first workshop will be held on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 from 2:30-5pm at Willard City Schools.

You will need to provide your own fabric and thread. For our first project, the kerchief and day cap, white linen is period appropriate, but since we are learning, a light cotton could work well too. We will talk more about appropriate fabrics as we get to each project.
