The Osterhout Free Library is raising funds through the NEPA Gives regional giving day which kicks off on June 5, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. and will run through June 6 at 7:00 p.m. This 24-hour online fundraising event will encourage patrons and library lovers to make a gift to the library in order to support all of the programs and services that the library offers for free to the community. Every dollar raised will go immediately to work right here in your community supporting and helping the Osterhout Free Library to:
* expand library programs and services;
* inspire a child to discover the wonders of learning and reading;
* assist teenage patrons as they grow into young adulthood with our Adulting 101 programs;
* provide Wi-Fi hotspots and up-to-date technology to those in need;
* support electronic databases that are free for patrons and serve to educate, entertain & inspire;
* grow and diversify items available for checkout in Library of Things;
* provide engaging and educational programs for all ages from birth to senior;
* help sustain the vision of Isaac S. Osterhout for generations to come!
This campaign reminds us that the Osterhout Free Library serves as a keystone educational institution in the City of Wilkes-Barre, serving all walks of life and empowering individuals in their personal, educational and professional endeavors. More than books, the Osterhout Free Library aims to - provide innovative educational programs that promote lifelong learning, connect patrons to technology, and advances education and information services for everyone in the community, free of charge.
