Bachata workshops with Stephen Smith

Join us on Thursday, July 24th at 8pm for Bachata lessons with special guest instructor, Stephen! The lessons will be followed by a studio social.

Meet Stephen Smith — a Bachata dancer and instructor with 13+ years of experience! In 2024, he taught across 25 cities on a nationwide tour after completing a 6-month residency with Bachata Sensual Orlando. From building a Latin dance scene in Maui to training in Spain, Stephen brings passion, connection, and his signature style to every dance floor. Now based in Santa Fe, he continues to share the love for Bachata wherever the music leads. 💃🕺✨

Hour 1 - Modern Bachata: This workshop will focus on deepening the connection with your partner in a way that allows for improvisation and play on the dance floor. Whatever your level, you can always find ways to give each dance a unique flavor. This workshop will help you understand how!

Hour 2 - Bachata Sensual: We explore elements of Bachata Sensual such as body waves, isolations, and smooth transitions between movements. All embedded in a fun pattern for the next social!
