Ages: All ages welcome, but most appropriate for ages 5 and up. All minors to be accompanied by an adult.
This family-friendly evening of insect exploration kicks off at 8:00 pm with hands-on insect education stations, a bug-themed craft, and a chance to roast a sโmore over the fire. As darkness falls, weโll dive into the nighttime world of moths and fireflies. Enjoy a guided walk through firefly habitat, where weโll observe these magical insects in action and learn how they use light patterns to communicate. Along the way, weโll discuss the firefly life cycle and behaviors. Then, using techniques like mothing and sugaring, weโll attract and observe nocturnal insects up close. Learn how to identify different species of moths and discover what makes these nighttime critters so special!

- Closed-toed shoes required
- Suggested: insect repellent, water bottle, and a flashlight
Guests will be walking on paved, gravel, or grassy paths after dark, so please plan accordingly. Pre-registration is required for every participantโadults and children alike.
