This year’s Memorial Weekend is especially momentous as we commemorate the life and legacy of Major General (Ret) Fred Gorden. The weekend features a dynamic schedule of events that blend remembrance, fellowship, and celebration:

🏅Heroes on the Green Golf Classic - Tee off with Former NFL Players, Veterans, service members, and community golfers in a spirited competition that supports youth and JROTC scholarships and programs in the Hudson Valley.

🎶Cadet Gospel Choir 50th Reunion Concert - Celebrating five decades of joyful gatherings of soul stirring Cadet voices that have carried generations through service and song.

🌹Wreath Laying Ceremony & Luncheon –Join us and keynote speaker General Vincent K. Brooks (Ret) as we pay tribute to our fallen heroes, active-duty service members and Veterans in a moving memorial followed by a fellowship luncheon that honors those who paved the way from all branches of military service, West Point, and the Hudson Valley. This event supports the Buffalo Soldiers Association of West Point.

🏍️Honor and Service Ride – Ride in solidarity with veteran, first responders and motorcycle clubs from across the region in a powerful procession of pride and remembrance. This event will support youth and Veteran programs in the Hudson Valley.

⭐Following the luncheon, the West Point Band will be performing a Labor Day celebration at Trophy Point at 7:30 pm. This concert will also feature fireworks. In case of inclement weather, the concert will be rescheduled for September 1. This event is free and open to the public.

Info: Join the Orange County American Legion Riders and the National Buffalo Soldiers Troopers Motorcycle Club--West Point Chapter for the Honor and Service Motorcycle Ride, a police-escorted journey through a breathtaking scenic route. Riders will gather at the Red Roof Inn/Stewart Airport in New Windsor before cruising through Cornwall via 218 to Buffalo Soldiers Field at West Point. This ride is a tribute to service members, Veterans, and First Responders offering a unique opportunity to experience camaraderie and honor those who have served. Immediately following the Ride, Riders will attend the Wreath Laying Ceremony, which is free and open to the public. Later that evening, the West Point Band will perform a Labor Day Celebration at Trophy Point at 7:30pm. This concert will also feature Fireworks and is free and open to the public.
