Girl Up Brisbane invites you to our BIGGEST and BRIGHTEST event yet - a Fundraising Soiree supporting ‘SHE Rescue Home’ and 5-Year Anniversary Celebration! 🌟🌟
Based in Cambodia, 'SHE (Shaping Her Earth) Rescue Home' is a not-for-profit refuge providing a safe haven for girls aged 5-16 who have survived trafficking, rape, prostitution, sexual exploitation, or who are at risk.
Our soiree will feature a keynote speech highlighting the vital work of SHE Rescue Home in providing ongoing psychological and financial support to victim-survivors in Cambodia over a period of up to five years, and the global imperative to eliminate sexual exploitation of women and girls. We invite you to participate in a raffle draw, with all funds directed towards SHE Rescue Home and fabulous prizes up for grabs. Our Girl Up Brisbane team also look forward to singing ‘Happy Birthday’ to our beloved community and marking this special milestone in the company of all those who have supported us. 🎂
As a United Nations affiliated women’s empowerment collective, Girl Up Brisbane is committed to our mission to liberate women and girls everywhere. By supporting SHE Rescue Home, we echo their mission - to provide "healing, wholeness, support and love” to every girl victimised by gendered violence and create safe space where young survivors can “reclaim a sense of childlike innocence.”
The price of each ticket covers the cost of a selection of canapés, substantial dinner catering (dietary options provided), dessert, a beverage on arrival (alcoholic and non-alcoholic options provided) and a base donation to our charity of honour. GF, DF, nut free and vegan food options are available. Low cost raffle ticket options will be available on the night to ensure affordability, and participation is optional. Additional donations are welcomed and will be graciously accepted. Any and all proceeds from the event will be directed to SHE Rescue Home.

What work does SHE Rescue Home do?
Based in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, SHE Rescue Home welcomes girls aged 5-16 who have survived trafficking, rape, prostitution, sexual exploitation, or who are at risk. As a nurturing space of healing, SHE Rescue Home is staffed by local Cambodian woman, many of whom are mothers. Survivors are provided educational, vocational, therapeutic, family and medical support throughout their stay, and are assisted to successfully reintegrate into their local communities.
Girls typically stay at SHE Rescue Home for six months to two years while court cases are finalised, families are reconnected and healing begins. After leaving the home, survivors continue to receive financial and emotional support for a minimum of three years. Cases are only formally closed once a girl is safe, stable and on their way to a thriving future.
Every closed case represents a girl - a survivor - whose future has been restored. This is why we're choosing to support SHE Rescue Home. Their work is powerful, life-changing and deeply needed. We hope you choose to support them too. ❤️❤️
