The BUgette is a fresh new venture from Brisbane Unplugged Gigs Inc, created to champion acoustic-style live music and connect with a younger, more dynamic audience. We're all about growing Brisbane’s underground acoustic scene — creating a safe, vibrant space where creatives can connect, celebrate each other, and maybe even jump into a session or two.
THE FORMAT
The format for the evening is very similiar to The BUg (New Farm):
6.30pm - doors open (bar is actually open from 4pm)
7pm - up to 3 blackboard acts - 10 minutes max, 2 songs max. See the MC for a spot.
7.45pm - first featured act
8.45pm - second featured act
THE VENUE
The venue is The End Bar, 97 Vulture Street, West End - gig home of The Salty Sirens. They will also be the hosts generally for the evenings.
The End is a laid-back bar in West End, known for its craft beers and cocktails. Its industrial-chic vibe is softened by lush greenery, vintage leather couches, a layered timber bar, and quirky nods to its past life.
THE ACTS
Clare Cowley & The Flames:
Charming vocalist & Meanjin based musician, Clare Cowley, drew audiences with bluesy vinyl album, Desire Notes (2023). Growing up around piano singalongs in Allora, the recently Highly Commended Artist (Queensland Music Awards) is a magnetic singer songwriter. Accompanied by her band, The Flames, her songs ignite on stage with dynamic violin & harmonies. Clare’s latest EP, ‘Rock & Druins’ anticipates 3rd full length album ‘Handwritten Letter’ arriving 2026.
Wattmore
Wattmore is a sibling duo blending alt-country grit with classic rock honesty. Known for raw vocals, sharp songwriting, and dry Aussie humour, they deliver punchy tracks that hit the heart and the funny bone. Their latest single Romantic Side is climbing charts and calling out swipe culture with style.
