About the event

'Friends and Enemies' - Film Screening at the Kurilpa Commons
In 1985 Queensland Premier Joh Bjelke-Petersen sacked 1,002 electricity workers, introducing some of the harshest anti-union legislation seen in Australia. ‘Friends and Enemies’ (1987) is a “fly on the wall documentary” which covers the bitter and protracted SEQEB strike that followed.
Join us on Friday September 26th at 6:00pm for a screening of the film and an open discussion on the SEQEB strike and its legacy. This event will be held outside, some chairs will be provided by feel free to bring your own also if possible.
