Humphrey lead a challenging discussion about the concept of colonialism in an Australian settlement and in the international context, concentrating on the dynamic of capitalism in establishing this nation. I felt like the ideas and consequent discussion moved the debate about the vexed issue of the foundation of what we call Australia, and so I found it thought provoking and positive as well as enjoyable. The atmosphere and the weather, in the afternoon sun, at Kurilpa commons was ideal.
