Tote Bags Gelli Plate Printing Workshop

Join artist Annie Winchcombe for a playful, hands-on printing session exclusively presented for Margaret River Region Open Studios 2025. This workshop explores the creative magic of gelli plate printing—a spontaneous and versatile process that doesn’t require a press and encourages layered, expressive mark-making.
Using paints, stencils, and natural textures, you’ll learn to build up a library of mono prints before designing your own custom tote bag, making it the perfect mix of art and function.
In this workshop, you will:
Learn the fundamentals of gelli plate printing, including layering, colour selection, and stencil use.
Create a series of botanical and abstract prints on paper to build your confidence and visual language.
Transfer your favourite motifs to fabric and walk away with a finished custom-printed tote bag.
Be guided through the process by Annie, who brings 30 years of teaching and artistic practice to her workshops.

All printing materials, gelli plates, paints, rollers, and tote bags
A beautiful collection of paper monoprints
One finished printed tote bag to take home
Expert instruction from Annie Winchcombe

Suitable for all skill levels. Ages 14+ welcome. Bookings open to individuals or groups of up to 8 participants.
About Annie Winch Art:
“My work is a heartfelt response to the environment around me. I'm continually drawn to the natural world—oceans, forests, landscapes, and plants. I work in layers and marks to reflect interconnectedness, inspired by natural patterns, Indigenous marks, collage, and stitch. My intent is to evoke beauty and connection through mixed media.”
