Discover the magic of molding clay in a whole new way! Slip Into Ceramics is a hands-on workshop designed for curious beginners and seasoned potters alike who want to explore the art of slip casting. Unlike hand-building or wheel throwing, slip casting uses liquid clay (called “slip”) and plaster molds to create precise, repeatable forms—perfect for creating mugs, vases, planters, and more with clean lines and professional polish.
In this immersive session, you'll discover:
· The fundamentals of creating and utilizing ceramic slip
· How to prepare, pour, and drain plaster molds
· Advice for cleaning greenware
· Decorating techniques
What is included:
· 2 - fired cast pieces -- *will need to be picked up at a later date
· The skills and confidence to start casting your creative pieces.
All materials and firings provided. Bring your curiosity, wear clothes that can get dirty, a hand towel, and a willingness to get a little messy.
