Join us for a fun and educational hands-on workshop where you will dive into the magic and science of sourdough bread making! You will discover the joy and satisfaction of baking your own artisan sourdough bread that's tastiest for your palettes, source of good gut health, and the original bread our ancestors handcrafted from dry flour to a beautifully shaped loaf. You will learn every key step; mixing, stretch and folds, pre-shaping, final shaping and scoring.
This class is perfect for beginner bakers and helpful for those with a bit of experience who want to improve their technique or build confidence with sourdough. You will get your hands in the dough, ask questions along the way, and walk away with new skills and inspiration to keep baking at home
You will receive take home sourdough starter, dough scraper, parchment paper, white rice flour, dough to bake at home, recipes and instructions, hands-on guidance throughout the workshop and freshly baked sourdough bread to enjoy during the class.
The workshop includes:
- Sourdough Starter Care
- Simple Sourdough Bread Recipe
- Stretch and Fold Techniques that build the gluten structure
- Bulk Fermentation (1st Rise)
- Pre-Shaping or Bench Resting
- Cold Proofing Fermentation (Refrigeration, 2nd Rise)
- Scoring Technique
- Baking Instructions to achieve a crisp crust for that crackling sound when cooled
